The Summer Palace, located in the northwest Beijing, is one of China's most cherished and best-preserved imperial gardens. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Summer Palace embodies the philosophy and practices of Chinese garden design and has been a pivotal cultural and historical site throughout Chinese history.

Highlights of The Summer Palace

The vast ensemble of lakes, gardens, and palaces was designed to achieve harmony with nature and serve as a recreational spot for the imperial family. Key attractions within the Summer Palace include Longevity Hill, Kunming Lake, and the beautifully painted Long Corridor.

Activities: Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll around Kunming Lake, take a boat ride, explore the many pavilions, or visit the Court Area where the emperors and their families lived and conducted state affairs. The site is also ideal for photography and cultural exploration.

Transportation: The Summer Palace is accessible via Beijing’s public transit system. Visitors can take subway Line 4 to Beigongmen Station or Line 16 to the Summer Palace Station.

Cost: Entrance fees vary depending on the season, with a general admission of approximately 30 RMB in the low season and 50 RMB in the high season. Additional tickets are required for some of the attractions within the palace.
