Zhangjiajie (张家界)

Zhangjiajie is located in the Hunan Province of China and is renowned for its extraordinary natural landscapes that inspired the floating mountains in the movie "Avatar." It is part of the larger Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, which is celebrated for its towering sandstone pillars, deep ravines, and stunning scenic vistas.

Highlights of Zhangjiajie

The park's most famous area, Yuanjiajie, is home to the Avatar Hallelujah Mountain, among other spectacular formations. Other notable areas include Tianzi Mountain for its clouds of mist and the challenging 999 steps to the top of Tianmen Mountain, known as the "gateway to heaven."

Activities: Visitors can explore the park's extensive network of hiking trails, take cable car rides offering breathtaking views, and walk across the world’s longest and highest glass bridge at Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon.
